Job summary

Silgan Plastics is seeking a maintenance professional to support our manufacturing operations, focusing on safety, quality, and reliability. The role emphasizes preventative maintenance on production equipment, proactive safety compliance, and teamwork to keep lines running smoothly.

The ideal candidate will diagnose equipment issues with a mechanical mindset, maintain a clean work environment, and follow established safety procedures while meeting daily production schedules.

Responsibilities

• Has a fundamental responsibility to ensure product safety and quality across all duties.
• Evaluates and takes action to maintain a safe work environment with established standards and guidelines.
• Performs preventative maintenance on machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance, extend asset life, and prevent breakdowns.
• Knows and applies written safety procedures.
• Inspects work areas and looks for unsafe acts.
• Completes projects/assignments safely and efficiently.
• Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
• Follows schedules and works independently or as part of a team.
• Has mechanical aptitude and the ability to diagnose equipment issues.
• Performs sweeping, cleaning, and sorting duties as necessary.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Has a fundamental responsibility to ensure product safety and quality as it applies to all duties listed below.
• Evaluates, and takes appropriate action to maintain a safe work environment with established standards and guidelines.
• Responsible for performing preventative maintenance on machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance, extend asset life, and prevent costly breakdowns.
• Know and apply written safety procedures.
• Inspect work areas and look for unsafe acts.
• Complete projects/assignments safely and efficiently.
• Evaluates and takes appropriate action to maintain a safe work environment with established standards and guidelines.
• Effectively use verbal and written communications.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Ability to follow schedules and work independently or as part of a team
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose equipment issues
• Perform sweeping, cleaning, and sorting duties as necessary.

Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and procedures.
