State of Indiana is seeking a Maintenance Technician at Rockville Correctional Facility in Indiana. This full-time role supports plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and grounds with Monday–Friday hours and hands-on growth opportunities toward supervisory positions.

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of electrical systems, carpentry, plumbing and painting trades.
• Ability to plan, schedule and supervise job sites.
• Ability to fill in for other foremen to ensure operation of the department.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints and remediation plans.
• Thorough knowledge of standard practices, processes, materials, procedures, and ability to use tools of the various trades.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards, MSDS, safety precautions for trades.
• Ability to plan and estimate project proposals in terms of equipment, man hours and costs.
• Ability to endure exposure to inclement weather.
• Ability to delegate work, set clear direction, and manage workflow.
• Ability to provide coaching and develop employee skillsets.
• Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Solicit cost estimates or cost proposals.
• Estimate costs and hours for maintenance projects.
• Oversee and participate in preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain accountability of materials, tools, equipment, and vehicles.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements for self and team.
• Recruit, select, onboard, and train employees with clear expectations.
• Set expectations, measure progress and evaluate performance.
• Workday attendance at assigned worksite(s).
