Job summary

Heritage Trail Correctional Facility in Plainfield, Indiana, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and grounds. The role runs Monday–Friday, 7am–3pm, with hands-on training and clear paths to supervisory advancement in a safety‑driven environment.

You will join a full‑service maintenance team, perform preventive maintenance, and help ensure reliable facility operations while upholding health coverage, PTO, retirement benefits and a strong safety

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of electrical, carpentry, plumbing and painting trades.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and remediation plans.

Responsibilities

• Solicit cost estimates or cost proposals.
• Estimate costs and work hours for maintenance projects.
• Oversee and participate in preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain accountability of materials, tools, equipment, and vehicles.
• Ensure safety compliance for self and team.
• Recruit, onboard, and train employees; provide feedback and development.
• Set expectations, monitor progress and ensure quality and deadlines.
