The Maintenance Assistant plays a key role in maintaining the hotel's maintenance operations, including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, HVAC systems, energy controls, and efficiency standards. You will focus on enhancing each guest's experience by embodying our company purpose of "hospitality from our family to yours".

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Chief Engineer and Housekeeping team to inspect the property daily, identifying safety and maintenance needs
• Prioritize maintenance issues and work orders using our digital platform
• Perform maintenance including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water treatment, preventative maintenance, and systems such as A/C units, ice machines, lighting, kitchen equipment, emergency generators, and safety systems
• Maintain ongoing maintenance programs for guest rooms, meeting rooms, public spaces, kitchens, and hotel equipment
• Maintain grounds and landscaping, ensuring cleanliness and attractiveness
• Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of all workspaces and storage areas
• Maintain the pool's cleanliness and chemical balance
• Responsible for exterior building maintenance if not outsourced
• Complete shift paperwork accurately in our digital platform
• Greet guests courteously during your shift
• Maintain a professional appearance and follow safety and security procedures
• Report accidents, injuries, unsafe conditions, and complete safety training

Qualifications

• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, carpentry, painting, drywall, and safety systems
• Basic computer skills
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform detailed work
• Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Successful pre-hire drug and background screening
