Job summary

Greystar is seeking a Service Technician to maintain property buildings, grounds, and common areas. The role handles routine maintenance, preventive work, and making ready units for leasing.

The position requires HVAC/refrigeration knowledge, safe operation of tools, and the ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. EPA certifications are required, with on-site duties at Greystar properties.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on experience in building maintenance and repairs across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Experience with preventive maintenance and make-ready processes for vacant units.
• Ability to document work orders accurately and follow safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Completes assigned work orders and preventative maintenance on the property per policies and codes.
• Prepares vacant apartments for leasing, conducts pre-move-out inspections, and creates punch lists.
• Manages materials, inventory, and vendor coordination as needed for repairs.
• Documents service activities to enable tracking and reporting.
• Maintains grounds, common areas, and amenities; performs cleaning and basic painting as required.
• Supports cost control by repairing rather than replacing parts when feasible.
