Job summary

J&P Hospitality Management, LLC in Montgomery, AL, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure the property is safe, functional, and comfortable for guests and staff.

The MT performs plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and groundskeeping tasks, responds to service requests, and supports room readiness and safety protocols, with occasional after-hours coverage. This is a non-exempt, on-site role reporting to the General Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous maintenance or facilities experience strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, basic electrical, and general construction.
• Must be able to use hand and power tools safely (e.g., hammers, drills, saws, meters, wrenches).
• Ability to diagnose issues and reference manuals, schematics, or blueprints when needed.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
• Employment is subject to E-Verify verification.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs to guest rooms, common areas, and facility systems, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance problems and complete repairs using hand tools, power tools, or testing equipment.
• Inspect and maintain PTAC units, appliances, lighting, locks, and basic fixtures.
• Complete service requests and report unresolved issues to the General Manager.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of maintenance workspaces and storage areas.
• Perform exterior maintenance including siding, roof patches, concrete repair, landscape cleanup, and trash removal.
