Job summary

Independent Management Services in Michigan is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support our affordable housing properties. You will complete resident service requests, perform preventive maintenance, painting, light repairs, and ensure communities are clean and well-groomed.

Responsibilities include after-hours on-call rotation, prioritizing work orders, stocking supplies, and contributing to a safe, welcoming environment for residents.

Qualifications

• Customer service oriented requirement.
• Working knowledge of basic maintenance concepts (plumbing, repair, etc.).
• Must have own tools to perform job tasks.
• Ability to prioritize work orders and projects based on need.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Timely reconditioning of vacant units, including painting, basic repairs, and cleaning.
• Ensure property grounds are well-groomed and free of litter and clutter.
• Respond to all resident requests to ensure 24-hour emergency service when needed.
• Monitor inventory and maintenance supplies; snow removal where applicable.
• Report to Site Manager and participate in ongoing maintenance education.
