Job summary

Independent Management Services is seeking a dedicated maintenance professional for a full-time, day-shift role in Detroit, MI. The position involves on-site building maintenance, daily inspections, cleaning, and minor repairs to keep our residential and office properties secure and well-maintained.

You will participate in ongoing training, adhere to housing laws, and report to the Site Manager and Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Ability to prioritize projects and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Strong attendance and timely reporting history.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning and grounds maintenance equipment.
• Awareness of Federal Fair Housing Laws.

Responsibilities

• Participate in ongoing maintenance education and training.
• Daily inspections of residential and office buildings.
• Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors.
• Cleaning and stocking restrooms.
• Collection and disposal of trash within building and around property.
• Perform minor repairs and grounds work (weeds, planting, water flowers, etc.).
• Cleaning apartments to make ready for occupancy.
• Ensure building is locked and secure after office hours.
• Reports directly to the Site Manager and/or Maintenance Supervisor.
