Maintenance Technician

Location: Omaha, NE

Burlington Capital Properties is now accepting applications for a Maintenance Technician position in Omaha, NE.

We pride ourselves on the quality living experience we provide and are seeking individuals with demonstrated abilities in leadership, maintenance, repairs, and customer service. Maintenance team members are responsible for protecting and improving the overall appearance and maintenance of the property. We value supervisors who understand their impact on the success of the property and tenant retention.

The working hours for this position are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with an "on call" requirement for emergency maintenance during weekends and evenings.

Essential Job Functions

1. Perform all interior and exterior repairs to maintain apartments, common areas, buildings, and grounds according to established procedures.
2. Clean common areas and units during turn processes.
3. Communicate regularly with supervisors regarding the status of service requests and make-ready units.
4. Complete vacant units to make-ready status following established procedures.
5. Inspect work performed by outside contractors.
6. Inspect and perform exterior maintenance to ensure high curb appeal.
7. Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and County Health and Safety Codes, Laws, and Standards.
8. Inspect common areas regularly to ensure proper functioning and cleanliness.
9. Participate in functions as requested by management.
10. Be available on call for maintenance emergencies as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record required.
• HVAC certification required.
• Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in maintenance or a related field.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, appliance repair, and general building trades.
• Ability to follow directives and work with minimal supervision.
• Basic understanding of English and effective communication skills.
• Ability to interact positively with employees, vendors, and the public.
