Leclerc Foods USA, Inc. in Montgomery, PA is seeking a Maintenance Technician on the night shift to maintain and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems across the manufacturing lines.

You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, document work and support high-speed packaging equipment. A technical degree or accredited apprenticeship, PLC programming knowledge (Allen-Bradley), and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs are required.

Qualifications

  • Technical Associate Degree or accredited apprenticeship program in a technical field.
  • Three (3) years of applicable experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Equipment knowledge, PLC programming and electrical/electronic knowledge are necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair high-speed manufacturing and packaging equipment.
  • Repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment including PLCs.
  • Document and track corrective and preventive maintenance to maximize plant availability.
  • Install equipment, machines, wiring, or programs and ensure safe operation.

Job description

Position Summary

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager/supervisor, the Maintenance Technician conducts, maintains, tests and repairs electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components. Applies knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation. Provides skilled mechanical and electrical/electronic support to all areas of Manufacturing. This is a night shift position.

Responsibilities
  • Follows all required work safe practices. This would include lock-out tag-out requirements and wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
  • Perform all tasks in accordance with company safety and GMP policies/guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair high-speed manufacturing and packaging equipment;
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment including but not limited to programmable controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gages and test equipment;
  • Make adjustment to equipment ensuring the proper performance and safe operating conditions;
  • Advise operators and line mechanics of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components;
  • Document and track all corrective and preventive maintenance performed, aiming to achieve maximum plant availability, with a target of zero unplanned downtime;
  • Perform preventive maintenance functions as directed;
  • Install equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications;
  • Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions;
  • Install, start up and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements;
Requirements

Technical Associate Degree or accredited apprenticeship program of the equivalent in a technical field;
Three (3) year applicable experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
Equipment knowledge, Computer experience/operation and PLC programming are necessary (Allen-Bradley preferably);
Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical
Knowledge of electrical/ electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and effective communication with peers, supervisors;
Excellent manual dexterity; Strong physical endurance; ability to lift up to 75lbs;
Ability to stand; walk; for long periods of time;
Able and willing to work 10-12hrs daily; Must be flexible with work hours and be able to work overtime and weekends when needed;
This position has been identified as a safety sensitive position within Leclerc Foods USA, Inc.

Essential Functions:

  • Must be able to lift from floor to waist 52lbs. 33% of the time.
  • Must be able to lift from waist to shoulder 52lbs 33% of the time.
  • Must be able to push/pull a maximum force of 55lbs.
