Job summary

Bakerly Barn LLC in Easton, PA seeks a Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance team, oversee preventive maintenance programs, and drive continuous improvement for high-speed production equipment.

You will manage daily shop activities, coordinate with production, troubleshoot PLC/HMI-based systems, and mentor technicians to ensure safety, quality, and uptime across our bakery facilities.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical maintenance training preferred.
  • 2+ years of maintenance supervisory experience in manufacturing.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with PLCs, HMIs, Siemens PLCs, VFDs and related controls.

Job Description:

The purpose of this position is to lead and support the maintenance team in ensuring optimal functionality of all production, packaging, and warehouse equipment. This role encompasses daily supervision of maintenance technicians, execution of preventive maintenance programs, training initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts, contributing to equipment reliability, production efficiency, and adherence to safety and GMP standards in a high-speed manufacturing environment.

This position reports to the Maintenance Assistance Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and develop maintenance technicians while promoting accountability and teamwork.
  • Assign and prioritize daily work orders, ensuring timely completion through the CMMS.
  • Troubleshoot and repair production, packaging, warehouse, and facility equipment.
  • Support preventive maintenance programs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with Production to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
  • Troubleshoot PLC- and HMI-controlled equipment, including Siemens PLCs, VFDs, and servo drive systems.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to reduce recurring equipment failures.
  • Support equipment installations, start-ups, and process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, GMPs, and food safety standards.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with contractors and other departments as needed.
  • Oversee execution and continuous improvement of the preventive maintenance program; audit completed work and recommend updates based on failure trends and equipment data.
  • Lead or assist in troubleshooting and repairing equipment, systems, conveyors, and fixtures to support production uptime.
  • Provide hands‑on training, coaching, and mentorship to maintenance technicians to promote skill development, safety, and accountability.
  • Ensure shift maintenance reports are completed accurately and submitted on time; clearly communicate equipment issues, status updates, and follow‑up actions to other shifts and leadership.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and training for new equipment and machinery.
  • Partner with production teams to resolve mechanical issues during operations and ensure efficient start‑ups, changeovers, and shutdowns.
  • Serve as point of contact for escalation of maintenance issues during the shift and communicate critical equipment failures or delays to leadership promptly.
  • Assist and coordinate with external vendors and contractors performing on‑site repairs or services.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including root cause analysis and reliability enhancements across departments.
  • Monitor compliance with safety protocols, department procedures, and GMP requirements; model appropriate use of PPE and safe practices.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas, tools, and parts storage.

In addition to the specific duties outlined, you may be required to perform other tasks and responsibilities as deemed necessary by your manager. These tasks will be relevant to your role and within the scope of your area of expertise.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED; technical education in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical, Mechanical, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of maintenance supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2+ years of hands‑on industrial maintenance experience.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with PLCs, HMIs, Siemens PLCs, VFDs
  • Experience using CMMS and work order management systems.
  • Strong root cause analysis, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with anextreme sense of urgency.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics

Preferred:

  • Food manufacturing or other high-speed manufacturing experience.
  • Manufacturing maintenance experience preferred over warehouse or distribution environments.
  • Machining and fabrication experience.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or other maintenance software.
