Job summary

Campbell Soup Company in Utah seeks a Maintenance Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment, ensuring reliable plant operations. Working the night shift, you will provide hands-on technical support to keep production safe and efficient.

Collaborating with Production Operations, Maintenance and Quality teams, you will follow GMPs, lockout/tagout, and drive continuous improvement in equipment performance.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year of production experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to speak, read, and understand English to safely perform responsibilities.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair manufacturing equipment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of industrial electrical systems and equipment.
  • Ability to work a 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM night shift schedule.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Commitment to safety, GMPs, and quality standards.
  • Ability to complete required testing.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain equipment and respond to mechanical and electrical issues throughout the facility.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair manufacturing machinery to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability.
  • Provide mechanical and electrical support during assigned night shifts.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain PLC-controlled equipment (Allen Bradley).
  • Apply knowledge of electrical systems and ladder logic to diagnose issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on production and facility equipment.
  • Assist with installations, upgrades, modifications and repairs.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Follow GMPs, lockout/tagout and safety procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement in equipment performance and uptime.
  • Work overtime, weekends, and additional hours as required.
  • Complete required written and practical assessments.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE HISTORY HERE...

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will play a critical role in ensuring reliable plant operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment. Your expertise in mechanical and electrical systems will help minimize downtime, support continuous production, and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. Working on the night shift, you will provide hands‑on technical support to keep the facility running at peak performance while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.

WHAT YOU WILL DO...
  • Support production operations by maintaining equipment and responding to mechanical and electrical issues throughout the facility.

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair manufacturing machinery to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.

  • Monitor equipment performance and proactively identify opportunities to prevent failures and improve reliability.

  • Provide mechanical and electrical support during assigned shifts.

  • Troubleshoot and maintain Allen Bradley PLC‑controlled equipment.

  • Utilize knowledge of electrical systems, ladder logic, and programmable controls to diagnose operational issues.

  • Perform preventive maintenance activities on production and facility equipment.

  • Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, modifications, and repairs.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

  • Follow all plant safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and quality standards.

  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety requirements.

  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to equipment performance, uptime, and maintenance processes.

  • Work overtime, weekends, and additional hours as required to support business needs.

  • Successfully complete required written and practical assessments.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of production experience in a manufacturing environment.

IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE... (NICE TO HAVE)
  • Associate degree in Maintenance Mechanics or a related technical field.

  • Previous Maintenance Mechanic experience in a manufacturing or food production environment.

  • Training or experience with industrial electrical systems.

  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining PLC‑controlled equipment.

  • Working knowledge of Allen Bradley controllers.

  • Understanding of PLC programming and ladder logic.

  • Experience performing preventive and predictive maintenance.

  • Familiarity with automated manufacturing systems and production equipment.

  • Experience working within food manufacturing, GMP‑regulated, or highly automated production environments.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Starting Pay: $35.50 per hour

  • Employment Type: Full-Time, Hourly

  • Schedule: Night Shift, 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM

  • Overtime and weekend work required based on operational needs.

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job‑related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
