Job summary

CommonSail Investment Group seeks a Maintenance Technician to join Independence Village or Johnson City locations. Full-time, 8:30a-5p with some weekends.

You will perform general maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, drywall repair, and painting, ensuring safety and quality across apartments and common areas. Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or equivalent, 1+ year related experience, and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or some college credits from a technical school; or one or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient in apartment maintenance including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, structural and appliance repair; drywall repairs and painting are essential.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures; ability to write routine reports.
• Ability to apply common sense to follow written or verbal instructions in various situations.
• You love to laugh and provide excellent service while working hard.

Responsibilities

• Operates various tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with team members.
• Identifies and reports broken equipment or uncertainties to supervision.
• Maintains a clean and safe work area meeting safety regulations.
• Performs preventative maintenance on machinery and building/grounds.
• Maintains a positive customer service attitude with staff and residents.
