Job summary

Fabcon in Selkirk, NY is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plant equipment for safe, efficient precast concrete manufacturing. This role focuses on reliability and proactive maintenance to minimize downtime and support production.

The position is full-time with a 7:00 am start time, Monday–Friday, and offers overtime opportunities along with benefits including medical/dental/vision, 401(k) with match, life and disability coverage, paid holidays, and safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training or a two-year technical degree preferred.
• Two to five years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, construction-materials, or heavy-industrial environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including conveyors, augers, industrial equipment, and wheeled vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on plant equipment, machinery, vehicles, and facility systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues to minimize equipment downtime.
• Maintain and repair mixers, conveyors, augers, cranes, batching systems, molds, hydraulic systems, forklifts, yard tractors, aerial lifts, skid steers, and wheel loaders.
• Perform welding, fabrication, cutting, equipment assembly and disassembly, and minor electrical repairs.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and respond promptly to production breakdowns.
• Assist with the installation, modification, and relocation of equipment and plant infrastructure.
• Complete work orders and accurately document maintenance activities and parts usage in CMMS/IFS.
• Follow lockout/tagout, hot-work permit, confined-space, environmental, and other required safety procedures.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized maintenance and work areas while supporting equipment reliability and continuous improvement.
