Job summary

Jefferson Health Plans in Philadelphia seeks a skilled maintenance technician to install, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on a wide range of mechanical equipment and building systems. You will dismantle, repair, and reassemble machinery and conduct periodic inspections to ensure safe operation of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and control systems.

Responsibilities include responding to maintenance requests, documenting inspections, and collaborating with other trades to support facility

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent; additional education and/or training required
• 3 years of related experience required
• Journeyman Mechanical Maintenance (or equivalent). Understanding of electrical safety and lockout/tagout standards.
• Knowledge of and ability to ensure safe practices in daily operations and effective maintenance and repair services for physical premises.
• Knowledge of successful approaches, tools, and techniques for dealing with changes and adapting to a changing environment, ability to adapt as needed.
• Knowledge of and ability to use tools and techniques to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from an emergency.
• Knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for anticipating, recognizing and resolving technical (mechanical, electrical, systems or operational) problems.
• Knowledge of HSE policy, ability to implement HSE policies to ensure that provided products and services are safe for people and the environment and in compliance with legal requirements and standards.
• Knowledge of and ability to utilize practices, tools, and techniques for communicating with a customer.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson
• Performs all urgent, corrective, routine, preventative, and requisitioned repairs of electrical, mechanical and plumbing equipment and systems.
• Maintains routine records of all inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs performed on any equipment or system.
• Maintain and repair distribution systems involving vacuum, medical air, medical gas systems and air compressors.
• Maintain and repair pneumatic equipment located in engine rooms, such as hot water convertor, thermostats, induction units, sump pumps and all piping pertaining to the function of this equipment.
• Make checks of all mechanical area equipment.
• Handle maintenance calls from the main office
• Assist other trade maintenance technicians with more complicated repairs as needed.
