Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking a Mechanic Specialist responsible for installation, inspection, operation, repair and preventative maintenance of facilities and mechanical systems across hospital buildings. The role requires working knowledge across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, boiler operation, and carpentry.

The position emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with other trades to maintain critical hospital infrastructure.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; trade or vocational training with blueprint reading and math.
• Journeyman credential or two different skilled-craft credentials (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.). Refrigerant Recovery License may be required for HVAC incumbents.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, inspect, operate, and test hospital HVAC, plumbing, electrical and boiler systems to diagnose malfunctions.
• Perform repairs and upgrades to hospital systems.
• Estimate and order materials for work projects.
• Coordinate with other trades to complete projects.
• Follow safety procedures and address regulatory compliance findings.
