Job summary

Cabinetworks Group in Culpeper, VA seeks an experienced Maintenance Technician to perform repairs and preventative maintenance on industrial machinery and production equipment. You will ensure departments run safely and efficiently, executing PM plans, timely corrective repairs, and supporting site maintenance needs.

The role requires strong trouble-shooting, mechanical and electrical aptitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or certifications in a technical/manufacturing field a definite plus.
  • 1+ years’ experience in a heavy mechanical / electrical manufacturing environment.
  • 1+ years' experience in plumbing; knowledge of hydraulic systems.
  • PM experience; TPM/Lean knowledge; able to learn new software and MS Office.
  • PIV trained or willing to be trained; able to read technical docs and schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on industrial machinery and production equipment.
  • Execute preventive maintenance plans and support site maintenance needs.
  • Repair sub-standard equipment by troubleshooting to component level and replacing worn parts.

Job Summary

Starting at $26.20/hr (up to $30.00/hr) We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to perform repairs and preventative maintenance on industrial machinery and production equipment at our manufacturing plant in Culpeper, Virginia. This role ensures assigned departments remain in safe, efficient working order to prevent operational disruptions and maintain OSHA compliance. The technician will execute preventative maintenance plans, complete timely corrective repairs, and support overall site maintenance needs.

Principal Functional Responsibilities

Consistently works in a safe manner with regard to self, co-workers, and manufacturing systems. Complies with applicable OSHA regulations, Cabinetworks Group H&S policies and EPA regulations. Diagnose, reports, and repairs sub-standard equipment by troubleshooting to the component level. Prepares for use, performs operational checks, inspects and completes routine repairs and major overhauls with little or no immediate supervision. Requests, withdraws parts from inventory, and replace defective or worn parts to make all necessary adjustments for the proper operation of the equipment. Demonstrates the ability to prevent equipment down time through observation, communication with production staff and maintenance leadership. Assists engineers in diagnosing problems and suggests corrective action. Contributes in team decision making. Provide support in project work and other special requests. Continuously reviewing current processes and searching out improvement methods to improve product/process quality and reduce waste, rework, and unnecessary work that adds no value to the work or process. Communicates and documents all work performed in CMMS (Limble), in compliance with work order process guidelines. Improvising acceptable fixes to get equipment running promptly. Assisting and supporting other team members in meeting department and site goals. Performing general housekeeping tasks and waste removal within the department/group and assists other areas as required.

Qualifications and Skills

High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or certifications in a technical/manufacturing field a definite plus. Must possess a valid driver’s license. 1+ years’ experience in a heavy mechanical / electrical manufacturing environment. 1+ years' experience in plumbing. Knowledge of hydraulic systems. HVAC/Boiler knowledge is a plus. Experience with Preventative Maintenance (PM). Strong analytical, technical, and troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of TPM / Lean or other continuous improvement processes. Computer literacy with ability to learn new computer software programs. Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) trained or willing to become trained. Proficient reading technical documents, drawings, and schematics. Good interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication. Able to work in a fast-paced environment with a highly participating work system. Ability to work independently and in a team setting in a safe and timely manner. Must be motivated towards productivity improvements, safety and quality awareness. Must be able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision. A working knowledge of department safety, quality and operational procedures, training manuals and company policies and procedures is required. Employees must understand various types of environmental and machining processes, which might result in non-conformance to company, EPA or OSHA compliance. Knowledge with MS products (Word, excel, power point) use of computer/Ipad.

Physical Requirements

Requires lifting, carrying, and pushing, pulling weight up to 75 lbs. occasionally, average weight is 1 lb. – 50 lbs. frequently. Work at a swift and steady pace. Critical and physical demands are reaching, pushing, pulling, walking, standing, trunk turning and twisting. Must be capable of working outside in all weather conditions. Must have sufficient hand eye coordination to manage precise movements. Overtime is required, including nights, days, weekends at times with little or no advance notice. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including switching shifts. It is an essential function of this position that you report to work regularly.
