Job Title: Maintenance Technician 1M
Job Summary: With limited supervision, the Maintenance Technician 1M performs advanced scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency tasks on all electro‑mechanical equipment in designated areas to minimize downtime and support quality and productivity objectives.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical machine control malfunctions, motors, switches, switchboards, electrical mechanisms, automated machines, controls, panels, relays, circuit breakers, communication systems, and alarms.
- Use schematics, drawings, layouts, equipment manuals, meters, PLC fault diagnostics, and HMIs to diagnose and fix problems.
- Prevent equipment downtime through observation, communication with production staff and maintenance leadership, and proactive maintenance.
- Assist engineers in diagnosing problems and suggest corrective actions; contribute to team decision making and project work.
- Document all work performed in Limble CMMS in compliance with work‑order process guidelines.
- Comply with OSHA regulations, Cabinetworks Group H&S policies, and EPA regulations.
- Perform general housekeeping tasks and waste removal within the department and assist other areas as required.
Additional Duties
- Install, maintain, and repair equipment designed for the wood‑working industry, including boring and sanding equipment, fluid distribution systems, automated spray booths, curing ovens, and conveyors.
- Work with AC/DC motors, pumps, drives, inverters, gearboxes, PLCs, and HMIs in the above systems.
- Improve processes and reduce waste, rework, and non‑value‑added activities through continuous improvement methods.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; an Associate degree or certifications in a technical/manufacturing field is a definite plus.
- 5+ years in a heavy mechanical/electrical manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical, technical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Extensive background with AC/DC motors, pumps, drives, inverters, gearboxes, PLCs, and HMIs.
- Knowledge of TPM, Lean, or other continuous improvement processes.
- Computer literacy and ability to learn new software programs.
- PIV‑trained or willing to become trained.
- Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficient reading of technical documents, drawings, and schematics.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
- Motivated toward productivity improvements, safety, and quality awareness.
Physical Requirements
- Lift, carry, push, pull weights up to 75 lbs occasionally; 1–50 lbs frequently.
- Work at a swift and steady pace with frequent reaching, pushing, pulling, walking, standing, trunk turning, and twisting.
- Capable of working outside in all weather conditions.
- Requires sufficient hand‑eye coordination for precise movements.

- Strong short‑ and long‑term memory for procedures and work processes.
- Ability to interact with coworkers and make good decisions under stress.
- Capacity to learn and comprehend detailed instructions.
Proficiency
Working knowledge of department safety, quality, and operational procedures, training manuals, and company policies and procedures. Understanding of environmental and machining processes that may impact compliance with company, EPA, or OSHA standards.
Attendance and Work Schedule
Daily attendance and punctuality must be maintained. Absenteeism will cause hardship to other team members. Overtime is determined daily based on production schedules and workload and will be communicated as needed.
Shift Schedules
- 1st Shift: 10 hours per day, 4 days per week (Monday–Thursday).
- 3rd Shift: 10 hours per day, 4 days per week (Monday–Thursday).
- Weekend Shift: 12 hours per day, 3 days per week (Friday–Sunday).
