Job summary

Cabinetworks Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician 1M to perform advanced scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency tasks on electro‑mechanical equipment to minimize downtime and meet quality and productivity goals.

The role requires 5+ years in heavy manufacturing, strong troubleshooting skills, and proficiency with motors, drives, PLCs and HMIs. Expect to work on woodworking equipment and collaborate with engineers in a safety‑driven environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or certifications in a technical/manufacturing field preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a heavy mechanical/electrical manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical, technical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency with AC/DC motors, pumps, drives, inverters, gearboxes, PLCs, and HMIs.
  • Knowledge of TPM/Lean or other continuous improvement processes.
  • Computer literacy and ability to learn new software programs.
  • PIV trained or willing to become trained.
  • Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and troubleshoot electrical machine control malfunctions; repair complex electrical equipment (motors, switches, switchboards, mechanisms, automated machines, controls, panels, relays, circuit breakers, and alarms).
  • Work from schematics, drawings, layouts, and equipment manuals using meters, PLC diagnostics, and HMIs.
  • Document all work performed in Limble CMMS in compliance with work-order process guidelines.
  • Communicate equipment status and corrective actions to production staff, maintenance leadership, and engineers.
  • Installation, maintenance, and repair of woodworking equipment such as boring and sanding machines, fluid distribution systems, automated spray booths, curing ovens, and conveyors.
  • Operate AC/DC motors, pumps, drives, inverters, gearboxes, PLCs, and HMIs for listed equipment.
  • Prevent downtime through observation and coordination with production staff.
  • Assist engineers in diagnosing problems and suggest corrective actions.
  • Provide project support and special requests.
  • Review processes and propose improvements to reduce waste and rework.

Maintenance Technician 1M

With limited supervision, the Maintenance Technician 1M performs advanced scheduled, un‑scheduled, and emergency tasks on all electro‑mechanical equipment in designated areas to minimize downtime and meet quality and productivity objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and troubleshoot electrical machine control malfunctions, repair complex electrical equipment (motors, switches, switchboards, mechanisms, automated machines, controls, panels, relays, circuit breakers, communication systems, and alarms).
  • Work from schematics, drawings, layouts, and equipment manuals using meters, PLC diagnostics, and Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
  • Document all work performed in Limble CMMS in compliance with work‑order process guidelines.
  • Communicate equipment status and corrective actions to production staff, maintenance leadership, and engineers.
Additional Duties
  • Installation, maintenance, and repair of woodworking industry equipment such as boring and sanding machines, fluid distribution systems, automated spray booths, curing ovens, and conveyor systems.
  • Operate AC/DC motors, pumps, drives, inverters, gearboxes, PLCs, and HMIs for equipment listed above.
  • Prevent equipment downtime through observation, communication, and coordination with production staff.
  • Assist engineers in diagnosing problems and suggest corrective actions.
  • Provide project support and special requests.
  • Review processes continually and propose improvements to reduce waste and rework.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting while maintaining safety and timeliness.
  • Motivation toward productivity improvements, safety, and quality awareness.
Physical Requirements

Lifting, carrying, and pushing, pulling weight up to 75 lbs. occasionally; average weight is 10–50 lbs. frequently. Work at a swift and steady pace. Must be capable of reaching, pushing, pulling, walking, standing, trunk turning, and twisting. Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.

Mental Requirements

Alertness necessary during all aspects of job duties and safety. Requires long and short‑term memory for procedures and work processes. Must be able to make good decisions under stress in a high production environment.

Work Schedule

Shifts: 1st shift, 3rd shift, and weekend shift. Weekday shift: 10 hours per day, 4 days a week (Monday–Thursday). Weekend shift: 12 hours per day, 3 days a week (Friday–Sunday). Breaks include one 15‑minute break, a 30‑minute lunch, and one additional 10‑minute break. Overtime is determined daily according to production schedules.
