Job Title: Maintenance Technician (Mechanic)

Hours: Sun 10pm - 6:30am; Off Tuesday & Wednesday
Responsibilities
- Ensure equipment integrity and timely repair.
- Effectively support the Preventive Maintenance (PM) program with a goal of continually reducing unscheduled downtime.
- Analyze problems and interpret technical information necessary to make required repairs and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs on production machinery and facility support equipment.
- Inspect, operate, and test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and validate work performed.
- Follow all company policies, safety rules, procedures, Lockout/Tagout procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), personal safety standards, food safety standards, and OSHA standards.
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and all plant electrical and mechanical systems, including motors, instrumentation, distribution, and feed control systems, and develop sustainable solutions accordingly.
- Complete all assigned work orders within the allotted time.
- Maintain complete records of work performed using software, work orders, and detailed logs.
- Communicate effectively across all groups and departments.
- Assist with equipment changeovers and line startups, troubleshooting issues as needed.
- Identify required parts and maintain current inventories and parts reorder lists.
- Ensure all products are manufactured to the highest standard of quality.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives, provide suggestions to improve processes, and participate on team projects.
Requirements
- Ability to lift 50-80 lbs.
- Ability to perform highly repetitive motions, stand for eight plus hours, talk, and hear.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairways, use a manlift/scissor lift at ceiling heights or above with proper safety equipment, and work in a non-air-conditioned environment.
- While performing job duties, frequently walk, use hands to feel or handle objects, and reach with hands and arms.
- Frequent exposure to oils, greases, and coolants.
- While performing job duties, occasionally sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and use the sense of smell.
- Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, high or precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme heat, and vibration.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
