Job summary

Sugaright in Dallas is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to keep a busy manufacturing facility running safely and efficiently. You will diagnose, repair, and prevent equipment failures across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems with minimal supervision.

This role covers production equipment, utilities, mobile assets, and fleet support while upholding GMP, SQF, sanitation, and food safety standards.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years industrial/manufacturing maintenance experience required.
  • Strong electrical experience; industrial certifications or apprenticeships preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant equipment including motors, pumps, valves, dryers, and electrical devices.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment, utilities, and mobile assets including forklifts, front-end loaders, semi-trucks, and trailers.
  • Diagnose electrical issues using proper testing methods and safely replace motors, components, and controls as needed.
  • Perform forklift and heavy equipment PMs, including battery maintenance, hydraulic hose repair, and mechanical inspections.
  • Support plant utilities and facility systems such as boilers, air compressors, HVAC, and water systems as required.
  • Follow GMP, SQF, sanitation, and food safety standards while performing maintenance activities in production areas.
  • Read and interpret manuals, schematics, and work orders to complete repairs accurately and efficiently.
  • Complete work orders, PM documentation, and daily activity reporting.
  • Work independently with limited supervision while maintaining strong communication with operations and leadership.
  • Maintain company tools, shop organization, and a safe work environment at all times.

Job description

Sugaright in Dallas is looking for a hands‑on, dependable Maintenance Technician who can keep a busy manufacturing facility running safely and efficiently. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their work, and can troubleshoot and repair equipment across the entire plant with minimal supervision. This position supports all plant maintenance, including production equipment, utilities, mobile equipment, and fleet assets, while maintaining food safety, sanitation, and safety standards.

Essential Functions

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant equipment, including electric motors (low and high voltage), centrifugal pumps, valves, dryers, and electrical devices.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment, utilities, and mobile assets including forklifts, front‑end loaders, semi‑trucks, and trailers.
  • Diagnose electrical issues using proper testing methods and safely replace motors, components, and controls as needed.

Education & Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience required.
  • Strong electrical experience required; industrial certifications or apprenticeships preferred but not required.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, and dusty environments.
  • Ability to stand, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have adequate vision, hearing, and dexterity to safely perform maintenance tasks.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or equivalent, and more than three years’ experience with maintenance of production machinery, electricity, and pumps.

Preferred- Certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance or equivalent work experience in a manufacturing, production environment preferred and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and plant facility maintenance experience.

Physical Demands / Working Environment
  • Ability to work in dusty, wet, hot, or cold environments for extensive periods of time.
  • Requires prolonged sitting and standing, bending, stooping, and climbing.
  • Requires eye‑hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and laboratory equipment.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision (including colors) to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports.
  • Requires lifting up to 50 pounds.
