Job summary

Sauer Brands, Inc. in San Luis Obispo, CA is seeking a Maintenance Technician on a Monday–Friday days shift. Compensation ranges from $28.50 to $34.00 per hour, with opportunities for advancement through our Pay for Skills program.

The role keeps plant systems and machinery running safely and efficiently through preventive maintenance and responsive equipment support to maintain production flow. The position reports to the Maintenance Manager and requires 3–5 years of industrial/electrical

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of industrial/electrical maintenance experience required, preferably in food production manufacturing.
• Willingness to participate in Pay for Skills program and advancement opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties safely and follow all safety guidelines; participate in site safety programs.
• Become LOTO Authorized and follow LOTO training and policy.
• Assist with machine setups, installations and changeovers.
• Perform routine inspections, emergency/unscheduled repairs and preventive maintenance on production equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, parts catalogs and work orders.
• Diagnose problems, replace/repair parts, test and adjust assets/machines.
• Carry out preventive maintenance on machines and equipment.
• Use hand and power tools; work with pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Create minor fabrications and install parts as needed.
• Create and complete Work Orders in computer systems (beginner level).
• Perform other duties as assigned as you develop in the department.

Maintenance Technician

Shift: M-F Days

Pay: $28.50-$34.00 depending on experience, with opportunities for advancement through our Pay for Skills program.

Overall Goal of Position:

This position is responsible for keeping a variety of machines, appliances, and mechanical systems operating safely and efficiently, by conducting preventive maintenance and responding to requests for equipment assistance to help maintain optimized production flow.

Job Summary

Maintains the operation of plant systems and machinery by responding to requests for equipment assistance, trouble shooting, correcting machine problems, and conducting Preventative Maintenance tasks and to efficiently support operations in production and throughout the plant. Reports to Maintenance Manager.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform all duties safely, follow all safety guidelines, and actively participates in site safety programs.
• Become LOTO Authorized and perform actions in accordance with LOTO training and policy.
• Assist with machine setups, installations and changeovers.
• Perform routine inspection, emergency/unscheduled repairs and preventive maintenance repairs of production equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, equipment/repair manuals, parts catalogs and work orders.
• Ability to diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments to company assets/machines.
• Perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance on machines and equipment.
• Familiarity with and ability to use a variety of hand and power tools in performing duties.
• Proficient with pneumatics, hydraulics, and or electrical trouble shooting
• Ability to create minor fabrications and installation of parts as needed.
• Ability to create and complete Work Orders in computer programs (beginner level).
• Perform other duties as assigned as one develops into higher levels of the department.

Education & Experience

• Minimum of High School diploma or GED required
• 3 to 5 years of experience in industrial/electrical maintenance required, preferably in food production manufacturing
