Job summary

Simplified Real Estate is hiring a Maintenance Technician to provide hands-on maintenance across a portfolio of residential properties in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. You will diagnose and complete repairs in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, fixtures, locks, and appliances, and support unit turns and inspections.

Independence, safety-mindedness, and reliable follow-through are essential, as is the ability to travel between properties.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance experience in multifamily or residential settings preferred.
• Experience with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, fixtures, locks and appliances is a plus.
• Strong initiative, troubleshooting skills, and ability to document work accurately.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and complete common repairs across MA/NH properties (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, fixtures, locks, appliances).

You are hands-on, practical, and comfortable working independently, but you also know when an issue requires additional support or a licensed trade. You take pride in doing repairs correctly, keeping your work area organized, and following through until the job is complete. We are looking for someone dependable, safety-minded, and resourceful - someone who can handle different types of property issues, make sound decisions in the field, and keep work orders moving toward resolution.

THE ROLE

As our Maintenance Technician, you will provide hands-on maintenance support across our portfolio of residential properties in Massachusetts (MA) and New Hampshire (NH). You will diagnose and complete common repairs involving plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, fixtures, locks, appliances, and general building needs within your authorized scope. You will also support unit turns, preventive maintenance, and property inspections. This role requires initiative, practical troubleshooting, and dependable follow-through from initial assessment through repair, testing, documentation, and closeout.

ROLE HIGHLIGHTS

• Previous hands-on maintenance or general construction experience strongly preferred
• Experience in multifamily housing, residential properties, facilities, construction, or a related environment preferred
• Working knowledge of common residential repairs, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, fixtures, locks, and appliances
• Ability to safely and correctly use common hand and power tools
• Strong initiative and practical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned repairs
• Ability to prioritize multiple work orders and adapt as property needs change
• Strong focus on repair quality, safety, cleanliness, and accurate documentation
• Professional communication with residents, Property Managers, vendors, and team members
• Ability to recognize when specialized or licensed support is required and escapte appropriately
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
• Ability to travel between residential properties throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire
