Job Position: Maintenance Technician Level III

Location: Lake Geneva, WI 53147

Pay Rate: $30.00 to $40.00/hr BOE

Shift: 1st shift, Monday through Friday

Description:

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician Level III responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems in a fast-paced industrial environment. This position requires the ability to perform preventive maintenance, equipment retrofits, and facility repairs while ensuring operational efficiency. The role also involves rigging and moving heavy equipment, collaborating with outside contractors, and maintaining building infrastructure. Candidates should have strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, be detail oriented and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Maintenance Technician Level III Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment and systems.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain machinery, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC systems.
  • Rig and move heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with remote troubleshooting alongside equipment manufacturers.
  • Coordinate and schedule work with outside contractors.
  • Install new equipment, notify relevant departments, and complete IQ maintenance documentation.
  • Develop and execute preventative maintenance plans for all equipment.
  • Maintain building infrastructure, including structural, mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • Lead maintenance projects with minimal supervision, providing direction to team members.
  • Fabricate and weld machine guards, fixtures, and repairs using MIG, TIG, SMAW, OAW, and plasma cutting.
  • Perform minor plumbing repairs, including threading, sweating, gluing, and pipe installation.
  • Create detailed hand sketches of components for documentation and repairs.
  • Identify, order, and manage parts and repair supplies using the purchasing system.
  • Maintain and develop a spare parts inventory and documentation logs.
  • Utilize and navigate maintenance applications for work orders, documentation, and requests.
  • Adhere to industry standards and best practices in maintenance and manufacturing.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles, including 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Follow all safety policies, including PPE use, lockout/tagout, and hazard identification.
  • Maintain situational awareness and proactively address unsafe behaviors and conditions.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with company standards.

Maintenance Technician Level III Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience required (5-7 years preferred).
  • Mechanical aptitude, ability to use basic hand tools, and experience with PLC programming, electrical schematics, hydraulic motors, and automation is preferred.
  • Able to operate forklift and scissor lift.
  • Qualified to work on equipment with electrical systems to 480VAC.
  • LOTO, and Arc Flash training.
  • Ability to read basic measuring devices (e.g. tape measure, calipers, micrometer, multi-meter, pressure/flow, and hardness tester) and use various tools (e.g. vertical/horizontal saw, hand grinders, manual lathe, surface grinder, power tools, and pressure/flow test equipment).
  • Proficient with Microsoft software (spreadsheets, Word documents, email, and file storage).
