Job summary

Sunrise Senior Living in Saddle River, NJ is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to help keep our senior living community safe, clean, and well-functioning for residents and families. You will work with a team to perform routine maintenance and repairs, assist with painting and refurbishing projects, and help ensure HVAC and safety systems operate smoothly.

You will participate in preventative maintenance, safety checks, drills, and daily workflow while managing tools and inventory.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform basic repairs (plumbing, electrical, appliances, fixtures).
• Assist with painting and refurbishing projects as needed.
• Support preventive maintenance and safety checks.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely.
• Drive community vehicle as assigned per policies.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned maintenance tasks and work orders.
• Perform basic repairs (plumbing, electrical, appliances, fixtures).
• Assist with painting and refurbishing projects.
• Support HVAC, water, and mechanical system maintenance.
• Perform preventative maintenance and safety checks.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and repair inventory.
• Support carpet and floor care as needed.
• Assist with suite make-ready preparation.
• Follow OSHA, fire safety, and infection control standards.
• Participate in emergency preparedness and fire drills.
• Drive community vehicle as assigned.
