Job summary

Foot Locker in Sparks, NV is seeking a Maintenance Technician IV to lead a maintenance team in a distribution center on a 1st shift (Mon–Thu, 5:00 am–3:30 pm). You’ll oversee preventive maintenance, review CMMS work orders, and ensure uptime of conveyors and material‑handling equipment.

You will troubleshoot electro‑mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, install components, mentor junior techs, and follow strict safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in facility or material handling maintenance; multiple PLC/electrical repair tasks.
  • Experience with conveyors, HVAC, plumbing or building maintenance and CMMS use.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings, troubleshoot complex electro‑mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

Job description

Overview

The Maintenance Technician IV is responsible for overseeing preventive and routine maintenance on all distribution center equipment and structures, performing complex repairs, and supporting the production operation. 1st Shift: Monday – Thursday, 5:00 am – 3:30 pm.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee a team of technicians in general maintenance, preventive maintenance, and upkeep of the entire distribution center.
  • Review the Computerized Maintenance Management System and assign technicians to work orders, maintenance tasks, and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Perform quality control checks on all maintenance tasks, work orders, and documentation.
  • Document and report completion of all facility/material handling equipment maintenance to the supervisor.
  • Troubleshoot and repair extensive electro‑mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems, including PLC malfunctions, transformer failures, VFD diagnostics, shoe/tilt tray sorter repairs, servo motor troubleshooting, and cardboard baler service.
  • Design or fabricate necessary components for projects.
  • Operate lift trucks, maintenance equipment, grounds equipment, and company vehicles.
  • Perform extensive maintenance procedures including conducting daily preventive maintenance inspections.
  • Properly follow critical lock‑out/tag‑out procedures while working on equipment, use required PPE (safety glasses, arc‑flash suits, respirators, and fall protection), and comply with company and OSHA safety procedures.
  • Support junior technicians with basic facility/grounds maintenance such as basic plumbing, yard work, lightbulb replacement, drywall repair, HVAC checks, cleaning, and floor repairs.
  • Support junior technicians with troubleshooting and repair of basic electro‑mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems such as belt tracking, sensors, chain alignment, gear‑box/motor replacement, electrical overloads, blown fuses, and broken motor valves.
  • Use industrial power tools such as welders, bandsaws, lathes, presses, and bench grinders.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 7 years of facility/material handling equipment maintenance experience with 3 years as a Technician III equivalent, or 5 years of maintenance experience in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated experience with conveyor systems, HVAC, plumbing, general building maintenance, and knowledge of safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in PLCs, PC controls, welding procedures, electrical repairs, and installation.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to read, write, conduct business‑related mathematics, analyze data, and utilize a CMMS.
  • Capacity to lift up to 40 pounds, ascend or descend up to 25 feet with assistance as needed.
  • Comfortable operating equipment 30–40 feet in the air.
  • Able to comfortably work in a fall‑protection harness.
  • Leadership and effective communication skills.
