Job summary

Leggett & Platt is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform inspections, repair, and preventive maintenance on plant equipment and systems. You will work on station machinery, electrical, plumbing, and building components to keep our manufacturing lines running smoothly.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in a factory or military maintenance role, and can troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, weld with MIG or stick, follow safety protocols, and document work

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years' experience repairing facility equipment in manufacturing or the military.
• Previous maintenance or related experience preferred.
• Technical training or trade school education is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and compliance on station equipment and mechanical systems.
• Complete preventive maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general handyman tasks.
• Assist with preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment and facilities remain in good condition.
• Using electrical testing equipment to verify continuity, voltage, resistance, and AC/DC circuit performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical and electrical issues.
• Perform MIG, stick and/or welding as required.
• Respond to and complete work orders and maintenance requests promptly.
• Repair or replace fixtures, hardware, lighting, and building components.
• Support facility moves, equipment installation, and special projects.
• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation.
• Perform other duties as requested.
