Job summary

Sotera Health Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician in the Gurnee, IL area. The role focuses on daily maintenance, preventative work, and rapid repairs to keep processing equipment running.

You will troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, order parts, and coordinate with operations and contractors to maintain production flow. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience, understands safety protocols, and can read electrical/mechanical diagrams.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of maintenance experience in a processing/manufacturing environment preferred.
• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and ladder logic.
• Knowledge of 480-volt 3 Phase power and motor control troubleshooting.
• Operate welding equipment and cutting torch; use hand and power tools safely.
• Must read, write and speak fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine daily maintenance and preventative maintenance on processing equipment.
• Identifies problems, collects data, and carries out repairs to restore equipment to operation.
• Identifies materials needed, prices them, and processes purchase orders with supervisor approval.
• Interfaces with operations and outside contractors for work orders.
• Adheres to all facility safety programs.
• Assists with additional tasks as assigned by Supervisor
