Job summary

AIR Communities is hiring a Maintenance Technician at Indigo in Redwood City, CA. You’ll help maintain the community through apartment turns, service requests, preventative maintenance, and repairs across building systems to ensure homes are ready for residents.

We offer an hourly range of $28.00-$32.00, monthly bonuses up to $250, rent discounts and growth opportunities, plus comprehensive benefits and on-call rotation to support career development in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of maintenance experience.
  • Proficient skills in two or more technical trades (plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, HVAC, carpentry).
  • Ability to troubleshoot and complete repairs with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts.
  • Reliable transportation to respond to emergency service requests while on-call.
  • Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the role (moving equipment/materials).
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

  • Provide responsive, professional service to residents and support fellow team members.
  • Complete apartment turns to prepare homes for incoming residents.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plumbing, basic electrical systems, appliances, HVAC equipment, and other building components.
  • Perform preventative and routine maintenance to help maintain the condition of the community.
  • Assist with move-in and move-out inspections as needed.
  • Support vendor quality oversight when applicable.
  • Share technical knowledge and assist with the development of other Maintenance Technicians when appropriate.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to after-hours maintenance needs as required.

What You Will Do

  • Proficient skills in at least two technical trades, including plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, HVAC, carpentry, or related disciplines
  • Ability to troubleshoot and complete repairs with limited supervision
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed
  • Reliable transportation to respond to emergency service requests while on-call
  • Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the role, including moving equipment and materials
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
