Job summary

AIR Communities owns and operates best-in-class apartment communities, including Mariner’s Cove in San Diego, CA. This Maintenance Technician role supports residents by handling service requests, apartment turns, and preventive maintenance across the community.

You’ll troubleshoot and repair across trades, participate in a shared on-call schedule, and contribute to a safe, well-maintained living environment. Competitive pay and growth opportunities are offered.

Job Description

We’re hiring a Maintenance Technician to join our team at Mariner’s Cove, our 500-home community in San Diego, CA.

At AIR Communities, our Maintenance Technicians are an important part of creating a great experience for our residents. In this role, you’ll put your skills to work across the community, tackling service requests, apartment turns, preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting.

You’ll work across a variety of maintenance areas, take on different challenges each day, and be part of a team that takes pride in keeping the community at its best.

  • Expected hourly rate of $24.00-$26.00 per hour. You will be provided a pay rate that is in line with your skills and experience as they relate to the requirements of the job.

What You Will Do
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to residents and teammates.
  • Complete apartment turns that create exceptional move-in experiences.
  • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance, carpentry, and general maintenance issues.
  • Complete service requests efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and support the overall appearance and functionality of the community.
  • Assist with move-in and move-out inspections.
  • Support vendor partners and help maintain quality standards.
  • May provide guidance and technical support to fellow maintenance team members.
  • Participate in a shared rotating on-call schedule to address emergency maintenance needs.

What You Have
  • At least 2 years of hands-on maintenance experience in multifamily housing, facilities maintenance, commercial properties, hospitality, military facilities, or a related environment.
  • Hands-on experience in at least two skilled trades, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, carpentry, or general building maintenance.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with a commitment to quality workmanship and safety.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and support community needs.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, rotating on-call shifts, and seasonal schedules as needed.
  • Reliable transportation to respond to emergency service requests while on-call.
  • Ability to safely perform physical work and move equipment, tools, and materials as required.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
