Job summary

AIR Communities is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team at our apartment communities. You will use industry-leading maintenance tech­nology to maximize resident satisfaction, turning apartments and handling routine service requests to keep residents happy and comfortable.

We offer an expected hourly rate of 27.00–29.00 per hour, quarterly customer service bonuses up to 1500 per quarter, a 50% rent discount, and opportunities for growth through our development programs.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of maintenance experience.
• Proficient in at least two technical trades (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.).
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
• Reliable transportation to respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent service to residents and assist team members.
• Perform basic apartment turns to prep for new move-ins.
• Carry out resident-requested repairs and routine maintenance (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances).
• May train other Maintenance Technicians and support skill development.
• May assist with vendor quality and move-in/move-out inspections.

What You Will Do

• Provide excellent service to residents and assistance to team members.
• Follow AIR’s process for completion of basic apartment turns to make the apartment ready for the next resident’s perfect move-in experience
• With general direction, complete resident requested repairs and routine maintenance (i.e. troubleshoot and repair/replace plumbing, basic electrical components, HVAC equipment, and appliances, etc.)
• May provide functional/technical direction and training to other Maintenance Technicians and support the development of technical skills.
• May assist with managing vendor qualityand may perform move-in/move-out inspections.
• Responsibilities vary based on team member skillset and community needs, mechanical systems, and season.

What You Have

• At least 2years of maintenance experience, preferably in some form of facilities or building environment
• Proficient skills in at least two technical trades(plumbing, electricity, appliance repair, HVAC, carpentry, etc.)
• Ability to work a flexible scheduleincluding evenings, weekends, 7-day work weeks (depending on community needs and seasonality), and on-call shifts (at least one week a month).
• A reliable mode of transportationto respond to emergency service requests while on-call after hours.
• Comfort with physical activityas you must be able and willing to move heavy equipment and machinery.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
