Job summary

Avery Dennison in Ohio is seeking a Maintenance Technician in-Training to repair and maintain equipment and facilities. The role includes a rigorous training program and a transition from an 8-hour day shift to a 12-hour rotating schedule on a 1-3-3 rotation.

Successful trainees will learn hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical/instrumentation, PLC functions, and safety practices, with progression through on-the-job tasks and internal/external training programs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Trade School Certification (Industrial Maintenance) or Associate degree preferred.
• Effective communication skills, written and verbal.
• Self-motivated and able to work in a team.
• Able to follow safety procedures and learn new tools.

Responsibilities

• Locate and diagnose failures, replace defective components, and perform basic troubleshooting using standard tools and drawings.
• Repair and maintain machinery and equipment such as pneumatic tools, motors, conveyors, and production machines.
• Install and maintain electrical circuits and control systems; troubleshoot electrical malfunctions.
• Perform preventive maintenance per schedule and maintain logs of activities.
• Follow safety guidelines; assist engineers and maintenance staff as needed.
