My client, a national manufacturing company, is looking for two Maintenance Technician III professionals to join their Owosso, MI plant. These are hands‑on roles for technicians who bring strong electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and controls experience and enjoy solving problems in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Available Shifts
- 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
- 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM
- Compensation: Up to $31/hour + shift differential

What You'll Do
You’ll play a key role in keeping plant equipment safe, reliable and productive. Your work will include both preventive and reactive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and identifying opportunities to improve reliability and production efficiency.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair a wide range of manufacturing equipment and controls, including extruders, corrugators, extrusion dies, AC/DC motors and drives, downstream equipment, chillers and related systems
- Execute preventive maintenance schedules and complete repair work orders accurately and on time
- Serve as a first responder for equipment troubleshooting, partnering with Electrical Engineering when additional support is needed
- Troubleshoot and work with PLCs, I/O, networks, AC/DC drives, motors and servo systems
- Use electrical test equipment including voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, Meggers and related diagnostic tools
- Read and interpret electrical, pneumatic and mechanical drawings
- Identify, specify and order replacement parts and control components
- Maintain an accurate and adequate spare-parts inventory
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, production efficiency and safety
- Work closely with Production and other plant personnel to ensure equipment operates safely and reliably
- Participate in company training programs to continually expand your technical skills
- Apply root-cause analysis and problem-solving techniques to identify and address recurring equipment issues
- Support daily management initiatives and other plant priorities
Technical Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate brings a strong industrial maintenance background and the ability to troubleshoot across multiple disciplines.
Required/Preferred Technical Experience:
- Strong industrial electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and plumbing troubleshooting skills
- Experience with electrical test equipment
- Ability to understand machine functions and sequences of operation
- Experience reading electrical, pneumatic and mechanical drawings
- Knowledge of NEC, UL508A and NFPA 79
- Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout, Arc Flash and PPE requirements
- Knowledge of 3-phase industrial wiring and power distribution
- Experience with AC/DC motors and drives, including preventive maintenance, wiring, programming and troubleshooting
- Ability to troubleshoot PLC I/O and networking
- Motion training with servo drives and motors
- Strong understanding of electrical formulas and mechanical math
- Experience with root-cause analysis and problem solving
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel and Word
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with Production, Engineering, vendors and other plant resources
- Strong time-management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple maintenance needs
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma, vocational/technical school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of industrial maintenance, electrical systems and controls experience preferred
- Technician-level experience with electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems preferred
- Basic PLC and drive training preferred
- Plastic processing experience preferred
Physical & Schedule Requirements
This is an active, hands‑on manufacturing position. The successful candidate must be able to:
- Lift up to 50 pounds to a height of 6 feet
- Stand and remain mobile for a minimum of 8 continuous hours
- Perform physical work for extended periods, including in temperature extremes
- Handle materials regularly using hands, arms and legs
- Perform a full range of motion including twisting, bending, reaching and squatting
- Mount and dismount industrial equipment and vehicles
- Work 40+ hours per week as needed
- Work weekends when required
- Participate in on-call responsibilities for equipment repairs and technical assistance
Up to $31/hour + shift differential + solid benefits.
