Job summary

MRINetwork is seeking qualified Maintenance Technician II to support plant equipment at our Owosso, MI site. Two shifts are available: 2nd shift (3pm - 11:30pm) and 3rd shift (11pm - 7:30am). You will perform preventive and reactive maintenance, aiming to maximize production and maintain safety.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, PMs, parts ordering, and collaboration with plant staff. The role requires mechanical, electrical, and basic PLC know-how with a focus on reliability.

Qualifications

• High School / Vocational Diploma or Equivalent.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds to 6 feet and stand 8 hours.
• Perform physical labor in temperature extremes; handle materials daily.
• Technician level - Electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics preferred.
• Basic PLC and Drive training preferred.
• +2 years Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Systems and Controls preferred.
• Plastic process knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair machines and their controls (extruders, corrugators, extrusion die, DC/AC motor & drives, downstream equipment, chillers).
• Execute PM schedules and reactive maintenance to maximize production rates.
• Order and replace parts and control components from suppliers as needed.
• Contribute to CMMS performance with timely PM and repair work orders.
• Respond to machine problems and involve Electrical Engineering when needed.
• Support Daily Management directives and Continuous Improvement projects.

My client, a national manufacturer, has 2 Maintenance Technician II positions to fill.

One is on 2nd shift (3pm - 11:30pm) and one is on 3rd shift (11pm - 7:30am) supporting plant equipment at one of their plants in Owosso, MI.

In this role, you will perform preventive and reactive maintenance duties required for the manufacturing operations of the plant. Your priorities will include executing PM schedules, repairing equipment to maintain maximum production rates, and maintaining an adequate spare parts inventory. Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform repairs on machines and their controls (extruders, corrugators, extrusion die, DC/AC motor & drives, downstream equipment, chillers, etc.).
• Maintain and build job skills through company training programs.
• Contact, specify, and order replacement parts & control components from suppliers as needed.
• Effectively contribute to CMMS performance through timely PM & Repair Work Order completion while ensuring compliance.
• First responder to troubleshooting machine problems; contact Electrical Engineering if additional support is needed.
• Support Daily Management directives and initiatives.
• Help develop and implement Continuous Improvement projects to improve production efficiencies and safety.
• Work with Production Staff to ensure the safe and reliable operation of plant equipment.

Qualifications

• High School / Vocational School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds to a height of 6 feet.
• Ability to stand and be mobile for a minimum of 8 continuous hours.
• Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time in temperature extremes.
• Ability to handle materials daily using hands, arms, and legs.
• Full range of body motion including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting, and mounting/dismounting industrial equipment and vehicles.
• Technician level - Electrical, hydraulics, pneumatic preferred.
• Basic PLC and Drive training preferred.
• +2 years Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Systems and Controls preferred.
• Plastic process knowledge preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Experience using Electrical Test equipment: Voltmeter, Ammeter, ohm meter, Megger, etc.
• Understanding basic machine function and Sequence of Operations of production machinery.
• Experienced in reading Electrical, pneumatics and mechanical drawings.
• Knowledge of NEC, UL508A and NFPA 79 codes.
• Lock Out Tag Out Safety procedures.
• Arc Flash and PPE Requirements.
• Strong industrial mechanical, electrical, plumbing and pneumatic skills including troubleshooting.
• Strong leadership ability with time management and task prioritization skills.
• Strong in electrical formulas and mechanical math.
• Knowledge of 3 Phase Industrial wiring and power distribution.
• AC & DC Drive / Motor PMs, wiring, programming & troubleshooting.
• Troubleshoot PLC I/O and networking.
• Motion Training with Servo Drives and Motors.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and communicate to other plant personnel as well as company resources and vendors.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.
• Experience in Root Cause Analysis & Problem Solving.

Compensation up to $29 per hour + shift differential; solid benefits package
