Job summary

Daikin Comfort Technologies Mfg Inc. is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to repair, maintain, and rebuild production equipment across electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

The role requires coordinating with production, responding to repair calls, and assisting with new equipment installations. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience with pneumatics/hydraulics, DC drives, relays, PLC systems, and the ability to read electrical schematics.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• DC drives, servos, solenoids, relays, motors experience
• PLC systems experience (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Direct Logic)
• Read electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic schematics
• High school diploma or GED; associates/trade degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Repair, maintain, and rebuild production equipment including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Coordinate maintenance with production to minimize impact on output and packaging
• Respond to maintenance calls to perform repairs
• Assist with installation of new equipment
• Record work in Fiix CMMS
• Read and interpret drawings and schematics
• Ensure safety compliance and 6S housekeeping
• Work with contractors as needed
• Perform additional projects/duties to support business needs

Job description

Maintenance technicians provide technical support, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and rebuild machines, perform preventative maintenance duties as assigned, and respond to breakdownsprofessionally and on timewhile following all safety protocols. Working knowledge of Electrical, Hydraulic, and Pneumatic systems.

Position Responsibilities

May include:

• Repair, maintain, and rebuild all production equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Coordinate maintenance processes with the production department in a way in which the production output and packaging is least affected
• Respond to calls from production and management to make repairs
• Assist with all aspects of new equipment installation
• Assist management with scheduling maintenance projects
• Maintain accurate and complete departmental records
• Record all work in Fiix CMMS
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, construction drawings, machine manuals, electrical blueprints/schematics
• Ensure all equipment adheres to all applicable safety requirements
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain good 6S housekeeping standards
• Work with contractors as needed
• Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs

Knowledge and Skills

• Read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics (know symbols)
• Able to mentor and train Technicians 1 and 2
• In-depth knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Ability to understand relay logic
• Ability to perform major electrical repairs
• Familiarity with the National Electrical Code
• Able to design and implement equipment improvements
• Able to troubleshoot PLC systems to component level
• Able to download or upload PLC programs
• Able to change and program drives and HMIs
• Strong knowledge of Allen Bradley and Omron programs
• Able to select replacement parts for obsolete components
• Able to make changes to programs when needed
• Able to perform PMs on all equipment
• Ability to write PMs
• Able to lead, critique, and improve Kaizens
• Able to champion, guide, and present 6s projects
• Participate in regular 6s activities
• Able and willing to correct PPE violations when seen and report continued violations to leads
• Ability to identify safety hazards and implement corrective actions
• All prior knowledge and skills requirements for lower levels of technician
• Ability to apply good judgment, strong work ethics, and integrity on the job

Experience

5+ years of experience in:

• Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• DC drives, servos, solenoids, photo eyes, relays, limit switches, and electric motors
• PLC systems, preferably Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Direct Logic

Education/ Certifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Associates degree in electrical or mechanical field or graduation from a trade school, any certifications are a plus, preferred but not mandatory

Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations

High volume manufacturing environment with forklift traffic. May have higher noise volume in areas – hearing protection required. Requires ability to stand for long periods up to 8 to 10 hrs. May need tolift upto 40lbs.
