Job summary

Epworth Children & Family Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician III to maintain the agency’s facilities and support the mission by ensuring a safe, clean environment for clients, staff, and visitors. The role involves interior upkeep, routine repairs, and vehicle maintenance within a busy nonprofit setting.

The incumbent will perform floor care, assist with grounds maintenance, and help with moving materials as needed, while adhering to all agency policies and PPE requirements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of general housekeeping experience.
• Must be a licensed driver and at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Perform floor maintenance and general upkeep of offices and interiors.
• Empty trash receptacles.
• Assist with repairs, maintenance, and housekeeping to meet standards.
• Assist with agency vehicle maintenance.
• Develop cooperative relationships with customers to support the agency’s mission.
• Assist in lawn care, snow removal, and grounds maintenance.
• Move furniture, supplies, and equipment as needed.
• Adhere to policies including attendance, procedures, code of conduct, training and confidentiality.
• Regularly use PPE while performing duties.

Job description

The Maintenance Technician III is responsible for maintaining upkeep and repairs of the agency property as directed by the Lead Maintenance Technician.
This position demonstrates commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the agency by engaging in respectful, cooperative relationships with customers (i.e., clients, employees, and external stakeholders); being accountable for providing services and ensuring safety to customers while empowering customers in achieving the agency’s mission.

Primary Responsibilities

• Performs floor maintenance, upkeep in offices, and all building interiors, including vacuuming, mopping, and buffing.
• Empties trash receptacles.
• Assist as needed with repair and maintenance, and housekeeping needs to meet licensing and accreditation standards.
• Assist with agency vehicle maintenance and upkeep.
• Develop cooperative relationships with customers; rendering effective services in a timely manner to support the achievement of the agency’s mission.
• Assist in the routine maintenance of lawn care, tree/shrub care, and snow removal on parking lots, walks, and porches.
• Assist in moving furniture, supplies, equipment, and other Agency materials as needed.
• Adhere to policies and procedures, inclusive of, but not limited to, attendance, program/department-specific procedures, code of conduct, training requirements, social media, and confidentiality.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
