Job summary

GLOCK, Inc. in Smyrna, GA is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of manufacturing machinery. The role covers electrical, mechanical, and fluid systems, with mentoring duties for Tech I & II.

You will install and modify equipment, program test gear, and document work in CMMS, coordinating downtime with production leadership. A strong background in DC/AC repair and safety is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; minimum 15 years related experience or equivalent training.
• Extensive DC/AC repair and troubleshooting, reading electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic drawings and PLC/HMI/industrial comms.
• Experience with injection molding machinery, CNC mills/turns, and process equipment.
• Familiarity with Fanuc robots is a plus and strong mathematical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and fluid systems on manufacturing machinery.
• Use dial indicators and precision gauges to verify tolerances and adjust components.
• Train and mentor Tech I & II on maintenance best practices.
• Complete installation, removal, and modifications as required.
• Program and monitor test equipment and data loggers.
• Inspect machinery to ensure operation per specifications.
• Record all work in CMMS and maintain logs.
• Inform production leadership of maintenance activities and coordinate downtime.
• Troubleshoot electrical controls from low to medium voltage.
• Maintain safety and quality in all tasks and work with minimal supervision.

General Purpose:

Responsible for advanced troubleshooting and repair of manufacturing machinery and associated projects.

Key Focus Area:

• Field Service CNC

Shift(s) Available:

• 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM Monday through Friday

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None

Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

• Utilizes extensive knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and fluid systems to diagnose and repair faulty equipment, parts, and systems.
• Able to use dial indicators, accuracy gauges, and other precision measuring tools to ensure proper function of machine components. Able to make corrections and adjustments as needed.
• Trains and assists Tech I & II in proper maintenance and best practices. Including routine cleaning, minor repairs, and inspections.
• Complete installation and removal including improvements and modifications as required or assigned.
• Program and monitor test equipment and data loggers
• Inspect and test machinery to ensure proper function according to specifications.
• Record and document all work using CMMS and related systems, keeping accurate maintenance and repair logs.
• Informs production leadership of maintenance and repair activities on all equipment using established procedures.
• Able to schedule planned down time with production supervision.
• Able to troubleshoot and make advanced repairs on all forms of electrical controls and systems. From low to medium voltage.
• Keeping track of numerous responsibilities at once.
• Pays close attention to detail from start to finish.
• Performs all activities with Safety and Quality as standard procedure.
• Flexible on schedule and workload, willing to mentor and share experience to build the maintenance team.
• Independently directed, self-starter that can work alone with minimal supervision.

Qualifications/Job Requirements:

Education and/or Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 15 years of related experience or combination of training and experience
• Experienced in DC / AC repair and troubleshooting, reading of machine prints – electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC (Siemens), HMI, Profibus, industrial communications
• Experienced in electrical and mechanical machine repair (plastic/metal injection molding, CNC milling 3&5 axis, CNC turning machines etc.)
• Experience with process machinery, heating, cooling, gas metering, vacuum, valves and electronic controls. Examples furnaces, heat treatment, chemical washing
• Fanuc robot maintenance and repair is a plus
• Exceptional mechanical ability with advanced tool shop knowledge using lathe, mill, drill press, welding and fabrication.
• Must have good mathematics skills and good knowledge of the metric system

Works with and around greases, oils, coolants, and cleaning solutions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift or move parts with an approximate weight up to a maximum weight of 25 lbs. Work requires bending, stooping, kneeling, ladder climbing, and working in small cramped areas. Personal protective equipment is required and provided. Must be able to walk in excess of 4000 steps per day. Must be able to hear and speak clearly in the manufacturing environment.

Work Environment:

The work environment is normally a climate controlled industrial manufacturing space. The manufacturing environment can vary, outdoor work can be required. Hot, cold, wind and rain can all be expected. Work could be greasy, slippery, wet, and dusty. Must be able and willing to work outdoors in the elements when required. Sharp loud noises are possible. Able to work at heights in personal lifts and drive a forklift.

Position Type:

This is a full‑time shift first position. However, maintenance covers three production shifts. Must be willing and able to change shifts, work weekends and overtime as required
