Support the company’s maintenance program by focusing on plant equipment and building maintenance in a manner that meets and complies with all food safety policies and OSHA regulations.

Essential Functions

1. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems with plant equipment (e.g., mechanical drive systems, HVAC, hydraulic and pneumatic systems).
2. Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems with plant equipment (e.g., wiring, circuits, fuses, switches, electrical installations, transformers, motors, and AC/DC motor drives).
3. Perform preventive maintenance on all plant equipment.
4. Perform building maintenance and repairs (e.g., air conditioning, lights, forklifts).
5. Perform repairs on equipment to prevent long-term downtime until permanent repairs can be completed.
6. Design/fabricate replacement parts or equipment as needed.
7. Electronically troubleshoot PLC controlled equipment using installed PLC systems.
8. Electronically troubleshoot 24 Volt control circuits.
9. Address advanced PLC problems with computer software.
10. Lead maintenance projects including machine rebuilds, new equipment installations, and startups.
11. Report food safety and quality issues to the appropriate personnel.
12. Comply with all food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures.
13. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies)

1. 4-year degree in electronics/maintenance mechanics or a 2-year degree with 10+ years in a maintenance mechanic role.
2. Experience with repair or preventive maintenance in hydraulics, pneumatics, machine shop, electricity, or electronics.
3. Advanced knowledge of TPM practices.
4. Advanced PLC experience, including knowledge of Allen Bradley RSLogix and other software controlling production equipment.
5. Advanced knowledge of CMMS.
6. Advanced knowledge of lockout/tagout programs.
7. Experience with boiler operations and cooling media such as ammonia or freon.
8. Advanced welding skills (stick and TIG), with ability to weld to sanitary standards.
9. Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
10. Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts to solve problems.
11. Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
12. Ability to train, coach, and mentor others.
13. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Schedule: 2nd Shift; Two Week Rotating Schedule: T, F, Sat, Sun, M, W, Th (then repeat).
