Old-Castle-Building-Envelop in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Maintenance Technician II for the weekend shift to support our industrial facility. The role focuses on safe operation, preventive maintenance, and quick repairs to keep production moving.

You’ll work with a team to troubleshoot equipment, read schematics, and coordinate with OEMs for complex repairs. Weekend coverage is core, with opportunities for growth as you contribute to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic experience.
• Able to read 24VDC control circuits and technical drawings.
• Experience performing PMs on complex industrial systems.

Responsibilities

• Follow Safety & Company Policies - Adhere to procedures including electrical safety, lockout/tagout, hot work, and inspections.
• Operate & Repair Equipment - Learn to operate and repair furnaces, sealant machines, forklifts, cranes, and production machinery; coordinate with OEMs for complex repairs.
• Support Preventive Maintenance (PM) - Execute PMs on schedule; assist plant maintenance; weekend PM coverage is core.
• Maintain Clean & Safe Work Areas - Keep tools secure and workspaces organized and safe.
• Assist Production & Drive Improvements - Interpret blueprints, troubleshoot equipment, and suggest process improvements.

Job Responsibilities

Follow Safety & Company Policies - Adhere to all company procedures, including electrical safety, lockout/tagout, hot work, and other required protocols. Complete monthly safety inspections and support annual fire extinguisher checks.

Operate & Repair Equipment - Learn to operate and repair a wide range of equipment such as furnaces, sealant machines, forklifts, cranes, and other production machinery. Coordinate with OEMs for complex repairs.

Support Preventive Maintenance (PM) - Execute PMs according to schedule, assist with the plant maintenance program, and document all work performed. Weekend PM coverage is a core function of this role.

Maintain Clean & Safe Work Areas - Keep tools secure and workspaces clean, organized, and safe.

Assist Production & Drive Improvements - Support production as needed, interpret blueprints, troubleshoot equipment, and recommend improvements to products, processes, and operations.

What We Are Looking For

PLC Exposure - Able to understand basic PLC I/O indications and use them during troubleshooting. (No PLC programming required.)

Well-rounded Maintenance Skills - Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic experience; comfortable performing PMs on complex industrial systems.

VFD Proficiency - Hands-on experience with Variable Frequency Drives.

Electrical & Schematic Knowledge - Familiar with 24VDC control circuits; able to read technical drawings.

Position Pay Range

$32 - $35 USD
