Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Syracuse, NY on the weekend PM shift. This role starts from a growth-focused facility where internal promotion is common and ongoing training is provided to advance to higher-responsibility positions.

The job emphasizes safety, teamwork, and hands-on maintenance of industrial equipment, with opportunities to improve processes and products through practical onsite problem solving.

Qualifications

• PLC exposure with basic I/O indications for troubleshooting.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance skills.
• Hands-on experience withVariable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
• Ability to read electrical schematics and 24VDC circuits.

Responsibilities

• Follow Safety & Company Policies, perform monthly safety inspections.
• Operate and repair equipment such as furnaces, sealant machines, forklifts, cranes.
• Support preventive maintenance and weekend PM coverage.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and assist production as needed.
• Interpret blueprints, troubleshoot equipment, and suggest improvements.

Maintenance Technician – Syracuse, NY (Weekend PM Shift)

Job Responsibilities

• Follow Safety & Company Policies — Adhere to all company procedures, including electrical safety, lockout/tagout, hot work, and other required protocols. Complete monthly safety inspections and support annual fire extinguisher checks.

• Operate & Repair Equipment — Learn to operate and repair a wide range of equipment such as furnaces, sealant machines, forklifts, cranes, and other production machinery. Coordinate with OEMs for complex repairs.

• Support Preventive Maintenance (PM) — Execute PMs according to schedule, assist with the plant maintenance program, and document all work performed. Weekend PM coverage is a core function of this role.

• Maintain Clean & Safe Work Areas — Keep tools secure and workspaces clean, organized, and safe.

• Assist Production & Drive Improvements — Support production as needed, interpret blueprints, troubleshoot equipment, and recommend improvements to products, processes, and operations.

What We Are Looking For

• PLC Exposure — Able to understand basic PLC I/O indications and use them during troubleshooting. (No PLC programming required.)

• Well‑Rounded Maintenance Skills — Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic experience; comfortable performing PMs on complex industrial systems.

• VFD Proficiency — Hands‑on experience with Variable Frequency Drives.

• Electrical & Schematic Knowledge — Familiar with 24VDC control circuits; able to read technical drawings.

Position Pay Range

$32—$35 USD
