Job summary

UniFirst Corp. is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech II to diagnose, repair, and maintain industrial equipment in a team-oriented environment. The role involves troubleshooting, PLC control systems, and adherence to blueprints and safety procedures.

The position requires 1 year of related experience, a 2-year technical degree preferred, and the ability to lift up to 80 lbs. On-site work with potential overtime is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Knowledgeable in industrial maintenance of facilities and equipment.
• Minimum of 1 year of work experience repairing industrial processing equipment.
• Must pass UniFirst's maintenance knowledge assessment.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Ability to read and understand maintenance literature in English.
• Basic computer skills and MS Office.
• Lockout/Tagout experience required.
• Overtime ability required.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment problems using observation and precision instruments.
• Assist maintenance personnel with emergency and non-emergency repairs.
• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs and control systems.
• Follow blueprints, schematics, manuals, and engineering specs.
• Perform boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment testing and adjust as needed.
• Conduct daily/weekly boiler safety checks and repairs.
• Inspect motors, belts, fluids, replace filters, and lubricate as required.
• Perform light welding for repairs.
• Inspect, clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts.
• Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
