Job summary

Conagra Brands is seeking a Refrigeration Technician for our Indianapolis Bakery plant. You will operate and maintain boilers, ammonia/HVAC systems, condensers, and steam control systems, reporting to the Engineering Manager. Shift is 6:00 PM–6:00 AM with an hourly rate of $32.92 plus a $0.50 shift differential.

• Basic mechanical, electrical, and math skills required.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Willing to work onsite at the Indianapolis, IN plant and obtain certifications listed below.
• Certifications include Universal HVAC, RETA CARO, Hazmat, and RETA CIRO.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain boilers, air and ammonia compressors, condensers, steam control systems, and fire suppression.
• Support HVAC systems, chiller and glycol loops, condensers, water towers, evaporators, heat exchangers, and steam boilers.
• Handle electrical switchgear, ovens, and related equipment safely and efficiently.
• Monitor equipment, perform rebuilds/repairs, and respond to emergencies as needed.

SUMMARY

As a Refrigeration Technician, you are responsible for the operation and maintenance of the boilers, air and ammonia compressors, condensers, steam control systems, and fire suppression. You will report to the Engineering Manager at our Indianapolis Bakery plant. Pay starts at $32.92 per hour.

ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS :

• Chillers and Glycol

• Evaporators and heat exchangers
• Compressors
• RTU`s
• Steam boilers
• Softeners
• Electrical and gas
• Ovens
• Electrical switchgear

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Basic mechanical, electrical, and math skills
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Work onsite at our Indianapolis, IN plant
• Willing to earn the following certifications:
• Universal HVAC
• RETA CARO Certification
• Hazmat Emergency Responder designation
• RETA CIRO Certification

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

• While performing the tasks of this job, you are frequently required to sit and talk/hear, stand, walk, use hands and tools, reach with hands and arms, stoop kneel, crouch, or crawl, and taste or smell.
• You must lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Requires normal range of hearing and vision (including colors) to prepare appropriate reports and results.
• You may be subject to bloodborne pathogens and other infectious illnesses, occupational hazardous materials and associated protective activities and donning personal protective equipment.
• Monitor, rebuild, and repair equipment.
• Ascend and descend from Step Ladders, Platform ladders and Extension Ladders
• Notice and be able to attend and distinguish normal from abnormal noises in equipment and machinery. Listen and respond to forklift truck safety beeps and public announcement intercom system.
• Respond to emergency situations.
• Pass a Respirator fit test.
