Job summary

City of Mesquite in Texas seeks an Equipment Operator I to perform a variety of skilled tasks operating equipment for maintenance and construction work.

You will inspect fluids, gauges and tires, assist with grading, concrete finishing and site setup, and help keep streets and utilities in good repair. A valid driver's license is required, with Class A CDL within 90 days of employment.

Qualifications

• One year experience operating jackhammers, concrete saws, rollers, bulldozers, loaders, mud-jack, backhoes.
• Must pass an equipment operation test for skid-steer loaders.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must obtain Class A commercial driver's license within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of equipment for maintenance and construction work.
• Inspect and service fluid levels and gauges.
• Assist with grading and concrete finishing.
• Prepare site materials and ensure tools are available.
• Maintain streets, alleys and piping as assigned.
• Record daily schedules and report to supervisor.
