Related Affordable Housing is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to keep our buildings safe, functional, and welcoming for residents in Waterbury, CT. You will perform plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry tasks, prep vacant units, inspect systems, and support on-call emergency maintenance with a collaborative team.

You should have 2+ years in general maintenance and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Bilingual Spanish is a plus, and experience with affordable housing is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in general maintenance or related field.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems.
• Affordable housing experience is a plus.
• Must be able to participate in the emergency on-call rotation as needed.
• Demonstrates accountability and reliability with ownership of projects and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Complete service requests and interact with residents to meet their needs.
• Prepare vacant units to occupancy standards within set time frames.
• Inspect property mechanical systems and grounds; address safety issues with management.
• Perform advanced routine maintenance: plumbing, electrical, carpentry repairs.
• Maintain common areas and grounds; train/mentor junior staff as needed.
• Assist in emergency repairs and rotate on-call shifts.
• Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and report shortages.
