Sun Chemical seeks a Maintenance Technician II for our Valparaiso, IN location. The role involves independent assessment, repair, and preventative maintenance of plant equipment, with progression through multiple levels.

Typical responsibilities include safety adherence, equipment installation and repair, documentation, and collaboration with engineering and contract maintenance teams on a daily basis.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to learn and advance through multiple levels.
• Must pass level entrance tests and demonstrate mechanical comprehension.

Responsibilities

• Follows plant and OSHA safety policies and reports near misses and unsafe conditions.
• Installs, repairs, and maintains all plant equipment, including new installations and special projects.
• Performs under stress in hazardous or urgent situations.
• Mentors and directs craft personnel, including contract maintenance teams.
• Cleans work area and documents repairs and status in shift reports.
