Job summary

Campbell County is seeking a full-time Maintenance Worker II to join our Public Works team in Rustburg, VA. The role involves routine maintenance of buildings and grounds, operating basic equipment, and supporting county events.

The position offers full benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, as well as Virginia Retirement Plan (VRS). The schedule is Monday–Friday, 7am–3:30pm, with opportunities for growth and additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of related maintenance experience.
• Valid Virginia Driver’s License and insurable under County’s Policy.
• Must complete NIMS IS-700 and IS-100 within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine maintenance of buildings and grounds including painting, minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and minor repairs.
• Moves equipment, supplies, and furniture as requested.
• Cuts grass, weeds, prunes bushes, and rakes leaves.
• Provide support for County events.
• Shovels and pushes snow and applies de-icing chemicals as necessary.
• Replace light bulbs and fixtures as necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
• Plan and manage small building-related projects.
