Job summary

Canam Steel Corporation in Buckeye, AZ is seeking a self-motivated maintenance technician to join our production team. This full-time role offers a total compensation around $80,000 per year for a 40–50 hour week, including base pay, shift differential, overtime, and bonuses.

You will troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, operate cranes and production machinery, and perform preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. Technical school preferred.
• At least 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• At least 1 year of experience in welding and fabricating preferred.
• Knowledge of overhead cranes, bearings, hydraulics, and drives
• Must have low voltage electrical knowledge.
• Experience in operating, troubleshooting and repairing various types of production machinery in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic PLC knowledge/experience.
• Basic automotive/trailer maintenance knowledge.
• Must have basic knowledge of lockout tag out and proper PPE.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting and repairs on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
• Analyze, troubleshoot and repair equipment - overhead cranes, roll formers, press brakes and resistance welders.
• Assist with the servicing and repairing of more complex equipment.
• Comply with applicable regulations and the department’s Safety program
• Perform general building repairs and maintenance
• Perform general trailer and vehicle maintenance on yard equipment- forklifts, yard trucks, and shop vehicles.
• Adhere to safety protocols.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Regular, reliable, punctual and consistent attendance. Must be able to work regular and/or flexible hours or shifts, overtime, weekends as required.
