Job summary

O’Reilly Auto Parts is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on distribution center systems and production equipment in Belleville, MI. The role focuses on diagnosing issues, completing repairs, and improving equipment reliability while mentoring junior staff.

The incumbent will work with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems, including conveyors, HVAC, and building systems, ensuring OSHA compliance and accurate CMMS

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent technical training or certification.
• 7–12 months of experience in maintenance, facilities, or industrial operations.
• Limited experience coordinating work or guiding team members (0–3 months).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment and facility systems.
• Experience working with HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and building systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Familiarity with PLC systems and basic controls troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Experience with CMMS platforms and maintenance documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple maintenance tasks.
• Knowledge of safety procedures, including OSHA standards and LOTO practices.
• Ability to maintain a safe, compliant, and organized work environment.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with team members.
• Ability to provide guidance and support to less experienced technicians

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on distribution center systems and equipment.
• Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems.
• Maintain and repair equipment including conveyors, PIT systems, HVAC, building systems, compactors, generators, and compressors.
• Calibrate, test, and validate equipment performance to ensure proper operation.
• Install, assemble, relocate, and modify equipment and distribution center systems as needed.
• Maintain maintenance logs, inspection reports, and parts inventory documentation.
• Follow all safety procedures, including OSHA standards, LOTO, and PPE requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and support to entry-level technicians and other team members.
