Job summary

WinnCompanies is seeking a Maintenance Technician II for Bowin Place, a 193-unit affordable housing community in Detroit, MI. You’ll perform maintenance across rental units, common areas, offices, and grounds, with a Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule and rotating on-call shifts.

Ideal candidates bring 1–3 years of relevant experience, knowledge of electrical/plumbing/HVAC, and strong customer service. CAMT or vocational training is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
• General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC.
• Knowledge in Ptech systems and troubleshooting boiler systems.
• Strong plumbing skills.
• A current vehicle license in good standing.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Basic familiarity with computers and tablets.
• Availability for on-call activity during off hours.
• Ability to speak and understand basic English.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people and personalities.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair appliances, carpentry, hardware, masonry, painting, basic electrical, plumbing, and basic HVAC.
• Complete service requests and repairs per company procedures.
• Ensure vacant apartments are market ready.
• Perform maintenance work orders and inspections.
• Maintain grounds and curb appeal; manage snow removal and trash.
• Be available for on-call during off-hours as scheduled.
