Job summary

Quanex is seeking a Maintenance Technician II - 3rd shift in Winnebago, IL to join our manufacturing team. The role focuses on skilled maintenance and repair of production equipment to ensure optimal performance, with a requirement to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems and to work every other weekend.

Shift hours are Monday to Friday, 10:45 pm – 7:15 am, with a $0.75 per hour shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shifts.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in an industrial manufacturing setting.
• Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience troubleshooting complex equipment and performing skilled maintenance.
• Ability to read schematics and related drawings.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain mechanical equipment and resolve issues on production lines.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic/pneumatic and electrical systems.
• Maintain, repair, and modify conventional equipment.
• Install utilities and components required for machine operation.
• Ensure 5S, SOPs, and OSHA guidelines are followed.

Description

Quanexis looking for a Maintenance Technician II - 3rd shift to join our team located in Winnebago, IL.

The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing skilled maintenance and repair work on production equipment and facilities in order to ensure optimal performance and functionality. This position requires a thorough knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems and the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex problems with the ability to work every other weekend.

Shift hours: Monday to Friday; 10:45 pm - 7:15 am, every other weekend.

What Success Looks Like:

• Repair and maintain mechanical equipment and resolve intermediate to complex issues around machines and equipment
• Repair and recondition hydraulic/pneumatic systems (airlines, solenoids), as well as electrical equipment/components
• Maintain, repair, and modify conventional equipment
• Install plumbing, air, and electrical utilities necessary for machine operation
• Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts
• Install special functional and structural parts in devices
• Lubricate and clean parts
• Adhere to and complete work within the 5S standards, SOPs, and OSHA guidelines
• Maintain a strong safety focus with a willingness to adhere to safety guidelines

What you bring:

• 4+ of experience, preferably within an industrial manufacturing environment
• Advanced experience and knowledge of electrical and mechanical applications
• Proficient technical and systems experience, including CMM systems experience
• Ability to read schematics

The targeted salary range for this position is $28.00 - $40.00/hour + $0.75 shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shift.
